Furnace “Heat Exchanger” Scoping
Your safety isn’t what it’s cracked up to be!
Anthony Plumbing, Heating & Cooling offers a special service called Heat Exchanger Scoping for your furnace. This is a process where a trained technician uses a very small, hi-tech camera that will reach into the Heat Exchanger and locate deadly cracks where carbon monoxide may be leaking into your home.

What is a heat exchanger
? A heat exchanger is a device that transfers heat from one location to another. There is a heat exchanger is sealed inside your furnace and contains the gas flame and combustion products. Inside air is blown over the surface of the exchanger, where it is warmed and then blown through the ducting system for room heating. The combustion gases are vented outside of your home.

A crack in your heat exchanger can leak carbon monoxide into your home’s air before it has a chance to escape out your home’s flue. Carbon monoxide is a deadly gas that, in small amounts, can cause serious damage to your health. If enough of this combustible gas escapes, it is possible for it to kill everyone in your home.

Prevent dangerous carbon monoxide in your air! Just call Anthony for a Safety Inspection and ask for a Heat Exchanger Scoping. We can find the smallest crack before it causes any risk to you and your loved ones. Our camera records the images of the crack(s) and technician’s analysis in video format. We can even e-mail you a copy if you like.

These images that are shown to you are proof of the condition of your old furnace and will tell you if you need to replace the unit or if you are safe from deadly gases. In addition to the Heat Exchanger Scoping, A Safety Check also takes a look at your furnace’s electrical wiring to prevent failure or a fire.
